Barn

The Barn Room is situated on the left hand side of the main mobile, and the spacious area provides space for 21 pre school aged children. The cloak room is situated in the lobby area and outdoor provision is set in a smaller area to the rear of the mobile and within the main garden area at the front of the building.

“Staff interact well with children. Those in the pre school room encourage older children to develop the skills they need for their move to school, such as independence and confidence.” (OFSTED Report, OCT‘18)

Children are encouraged to play, develop and learn through a wide range of activities and through the open outdoors, learning from first hand experiences. We take the lead from the children and their personal interests both within the setting and in the home, but we focus on the here and now, consolidating the skills the children need to progress when they transition to school. Children are encouraged to join in Letters and Sounds activites allowing children to practice engaging, listening, attention and concentration. All these skills are vital to continue to develop at school.
